This is how wars start!
Wars also start over the 'Do you put the milk or hot water in your coffee first?' debate.
Or the 'drop of oil or pinch of salt in your pasta while its cooking' debate.
It seems for every frivolous thing, we as people can stem an argument one way or another.

Even have cable TV!
Actually even fed prisoners here in the US have full cable tv. (naughty programming blocked by vchip) They do it because it helps keep the inmates calm and thus I suppose is worth the money if it actually works.
Many non violent fed inmates even have access to a basic form of email (no attachments just plain text really)
I don't have a problem with that either. As it's very easily monitored if they are up to something and keeping family ties may be a positive in many situations for these guys, unless their whole family is criminal.

They don't have a private room with their own TV.
No that privilege is reserved for death row inmates.
You have fancy prisons in Texas.
In our defense they did recently repeal the last meal request. Death row inmates now get typical jail food for their last meal.

No offense to anyone intended, but I think it's very profound! Natives of many cultures take their totems and idols just as seriously as other peoples who take their religions very seriously. And we all have the right to NOT take any of it seriously if we so choose.

An unexpected side-effect of the 2010 flooding in parts of Sindh, Pakistan, was that millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters; because of the scale of the flooding and the fact that the water took so long to recede, many trees became cocooned in spiders webs. People in the area had never seen this phenomenon before, but they also reported that there were fewer mosquitoes than they would have expected, given the amount of standing water that was left. Not being bitten by mosquitoes was one small blessing for people that had lost everything in the floods.

Answer this one.
In my pocket with the other $99.
To heck with $100 shirts.
To heck with $100 shirts.
The fallacy there is that it adds the money you owe (98) to the money you have left (1). The money you have left is a Surplus for you and is thus a positve. The money you owe is a negative on your part. In math, -98+1=!99.
Good one. That is how governments try to do math!
You borrowed $100.
You paid back $2
You now owe $98
For $98 you've gained a $97 shirt and a $1 bill.

ok, then how about this one:
The key there is that the hypotenus on the top and bottom triangle are not straight, allowing a little bit of space for another square. The other shapes are not whole-numbered in area other. I.e. one polygon can measure 2.63232 square units, etc...
By using a bit of illusion, you are lead to believed that a whole square-unit just disappeared. You can actually try out making a triangle with straight lines and exact measurements and you can tell the picture is misleading. I did one and it kinda look like this. Notice that shome of the shapes are too big to even fit.

NO, flush it like eveyone else
Seriously if anyone can identify the species in the picture I posted above, please let me know.
The largest native species in North America is the Eastern Indigo Snake: Eastern indigo snake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
And the Black Rat Snake is a close second: Pantherophis obsoletus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But that snake looks to be well over 10 feet so that raises the possibility that it is a non-native species and I'd guess an anaconda.
It became quite trendy during the Goth period on teenagedum to own a snake as a pet, and the pet of choice for the X-treme dudes was an anaconda. But like so many irresponsible pet owners, the shine comes off and the chores get old and they just release the animals into the wild. Perhaps that is what we are seeing here.

I'm not a expert but by looking at the length comparing with the distance of the fence post in the background and it't diameter I would think the snake is in the constrictor family, Python or Anaconda family. The head is not shaped like a viper family snake.

i used google image search - just drag an image into the searchbox!
Secretaries chair from the 60's, for taking dictation or listening to music...groovy
But here's my question --- Do you have to have two pages (the Google Search page + the website page with the photo) open at the same time in order to drag the image over to Google Image Search? I tried the Copy command to copy a photo and Paste it into the Google Searchbox, but that didn't work --- although the "Copy Shortcut" command did work a little better --- but I don't think that's what you meant.
i don't know which browser you use, but i use a chrome based browser which allows me to 'rip' a tab off to one side, which opens a new window. i now have two browser windows showing different tabs, and can drag and drop images from one to the other.
or, depending on browser, you may be able to drag the picture up onto the google image page tab, which will then open allowing you to drop the image from the original tab into the searchbox, if you get what i'm trying to say.
i suppose what we really need is some sort of extension or accelerator which lets you right-click on an image and select 'search this image.'...and will open up google image search results in a new tab.
(or a bookmarklet that we could drag images onto)

I'm using IE9 and here's what I did: I clicked on the little Google camera icon and when the Image Search screen came up, followed Google's instructions:
"How to get an image URL
1. Right-click an image on the web and copy the images URL.
2. Return to the search box and paste in the URL (Ctrl+V or Command+V)."
(To get the image's URL, I just clicked on Properties and copied it.) Then, as instructed, hit Ctrl+V and VOILA, the image's URL was in the search box and when I hit Enter, the image came up! VERY, VERY COOL! Thanks guys!
PS You can also do it by using this app:

An amazing spectacle was seen in Japan. The surf washed up on shore thousands of luminescent jellyfish that normally live at great depths, and only during the breeding are lifted to the surface.

The Naica Mine of Chihuahua, Mexico, is a working mine that is known for its extraordinary crystals. Naica is a lead, zinc and silver mine in which large voids have been found, containing crystals of selenite (gypsum) as large as 4 feet in diameter and 50 feet long. The chamber holding these crystals is known as the Crystal Cave of Giants, and is approximately 1000 feet down in the limestone host rock of the mine.
The crystals were formed by hydrothermal fluids emanating from the magma chambers below. The cavern was discovered while the miners were drilling through the Naica fault, which they were worried would flood the mine. The Cave of Swords is another chamber in the Naica Mine, containing similar large crystals.
