Dave hello.. It's taken me until now to find my info.
Model #..(GM) MFAT X PNT YKT
for Windows XP Sp3...Gateway Media Center
SERIAL #...0030028193
I hope this info is helpful.
Thanks for any help on this.
Your motherboard should be an Intel.

Intel Desktop Board D845PESV/D845PECE Technical Product Specification

Quote:
1.7 System Memory
The Desktop Boards D845PESV and D845PECE both have two DIMM sockets and support the
following memory features:
2.5 V (only) 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
Unbuffered, unregistered single-sided or double-sided DIMMs
Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB
 DDR333/266 MHz SDRAM DIMMs only
 Serial Presence Detect (SPD)
 Suspend to RAM
You will need DDR333 2.5v 184-pin RAM.

From Newegg:
Mushkin Enhanced Green 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 333 (PC 2700) Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model 991372

This one is $60, the other one listed is $80.

DDR3 abd DDR2 RAM is pretty cheap now, on a good sale you can get 8GB for that price.

Since DDR, for your computer, is not used much anymore the price is going to be pretty high.

If you computer is doing what you need it to, you might want to leave it the way it is.

It is raining for more than last 50 hours continuously

Not a heavy rain all the time, still we are under threat of a flood . A huge portion of our province (West Bengal, India) is already flooded , and if it rains even more, which will make Panchet Dam to release more water, there is a trouble for us

Weather forecast for coming two days is more than heavy rainfall

StalkeR

Now,that's definitely not good. Sorry to hear that.

Wow Arc you hang in there. That's a big dam took a look on google earth. We in my area are into are about 70th day of them letting out record amount of water (150,000 cfps) we have 8 more days of that then it will drop 5000 cfps a day en-tell to get to 40,000 cfps can't wait

Yes Frederik , you are right . I made a post about one year ago, and today a new member thanked me for that iTunes won't start, on a locked disk... list goes on.

Jerry, I can remember the last time when it flooded in the year 2K . I was safe, my home was not under water (it's a highland) , but when all your friends were in trouble by a natural calamity, it was more painful that I am safe So I tried to stand beside them at my best , but my (and a few lucky persons like me) capacity was very limited those days .

Edit : about the thread I linked, there is another type of problem where the disk marked to be read only .... and that cannot be fixed by that method . My friend Timo (TimSmitt) told me that he will make a script for removing read only marks from drives, but I am missing him for a long time

Dave hi.. thanks bunches.. for your reply..Yes it's IntelPentium 4 which can be expanded to 1024 MB. out of 160 GB or storage.. I still 139GB Free. I think we can leave it as it is now then.. since it's quite old.. I'll probably run a new one under it before too long.
Again thanks so very much.

I can only soft-delete as well, and I think Aaron, Shawn and John are the same (although they may have the option to hard-delete). I think that there may be a Forum script that periodically runs to permanently delete these items, although Shawn/John should be able to give you the definitive answer and remove those items for you.

Gutted

Today started much like any other Monday, day off for me, that was until the postman brought the dreaded letter ive felt was coming for a while. REDUNDANT EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. Furious doesn't even cut it. I'm a chef by trade and have run a small Bistro in Town since it was built 7 years ago.I know its been struggling of late (like a lot of people are in this countries current state) but some heads up would have been nice rather than a letter in the post saying not to come back were closing.

A Guy

That sucks Danny. Losing your job is bad enough, but someone not having the decency to tell you face to face is worse. Sorry to hear that

A Guy

Thanks Guy

Seem like common decency falls by the wayside in business.

Danny

marsmimar

Small consolation but it seems like employers in the UK aren't any different than here in the Colonies. When my fiancee ran out of medical leave and personal time during her medical situation her employer sent her a registered letter effectively saying, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out. And don't forget to turn out the lights." Things have a way of working out, Danny.

xxxdannyxxx

Thanks for the positivity marsmimar, like you say these things have a way of working themselves out although it doesn't feel much like that at present. Going to use this time positively and spend extra time with the children and wife and see how things pan out.

Speaking of RAM, hard to believe how much the prices have come down. Today on Newegg:

Mine says version 6.0.

FredeGail

Firefox really disappoints me that, they always go from v. 4 to 5, and now to 6 just like that, because "it sounds better".

Not cool.

I've been noticing that also, the RAM you linked is twice the size, 16GB, for less than half the price I paid for 8GB RAM about 1 1/2 years ago

LADYPINKtomato1

Community Feedback posted this today. FIREFOX 6

Firefox 6 will include critical updates, as well as improvements to the current Firefox. The release is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16. On that day, please update only by using your "Help" drop-down menu under "About Firefox." Do not be fooled by an email suggesting you update via an embedded link in the email.

To repeat: Always update via your "Help" drop-down menu under "About Firefox."
Reminder about the "Firefox Rapid Release Program":

It may appear that Firefox is releasing updates too quickly. But in reality, they've just changed their numbering system. Firefox used to update in increments, for instance numbers like 3.5.19, for bug patches and security fixes. Those were released about every six weeks. A major release, with a complete number change like Firefox 4, came out every six to twelve months. With those full number updates they'd include new features, improvements, and enhancements all at once.

Because there is so much to test and refine it could take up to 18 months to get changes ready for that one big release. Plus, they'd get bogged down because they still had to go back and make security fixes for incremental releases. It would take valuable time away from working on the major, whole number releases.

So, Mozilla has switched to this 18 week release plan instead. These releases include bug patches and security fixes that would normally be in an incremental update, but they also include a couple of minor new features each time. This allows Mozilla to get full, updated versions of Firefox out when promised. If something isn't quite ready or hasn't been tested enough, it will be released in the next 18 week release issue. This approach is better because new features are revealed a few at a time, improving comprehension by users and causing fewer stability issues. And for troubleshooting help, it will make things much easier to pin down.

Just to be clear, we will still occasionally see the increments being released, for instance 4.0.1, but it will be rare and only for small patches that can't wait. They are also hoping this new numbering system will eliminate confusion among users who were never quite sure which version they were using or if they were up to date. People often thought they were running say 3.5 when they are actually running 3.6, or the other way around. We saw that happen here at CF more than once.

Today....School started with a bang.....

Apparently on Friday, the school decided to cancel a class I was supposed to be enrolled in. They sent out E mails, but to the college address, not the home addresses.

This morning when I went to check my schedule, I found out the class had been dropped. After running in to see my counselor, she told me that the teacher didn't even know that it was being cancelled until Friday.

Soooo...I spent the morning running all over campus trying to find a class that would take me so I can maintain my full time status with 12 or more credits....I ended up in Art Appreciation....

Can't wait to see how the rest of the semester pans out....

Hope all is OK, Boshko. Hate to hear when people have to seek medical assistance.

Can I borrow some money now that you sold your old Nvidia?

StalkeR

Well,I can say that it's ok. I need to get operated on the eye,but will see, maybe that will be after I come back from holiday.
And for the money... I sold it for 10 euros...

My absence ... (Update)

smarteyeball

Been away for a few days, returned and was confronted with the half dismantled port-a-cot left in frustration after my nephews last visit.

30 mins of frustration (and one breakage) it's finally away. Damn thing nearly got tossed in the bin instead. Designers of baby products should be slapped.

marsmimar

Today I realized I must need new glasses. I coulda sworn you wrote port-a-pot. I didn't understand why you'd want to put it away and keep it. Especially the smell after 3 days.

*sigh* Yet another sign of my advancing old age.

Yes it comes to us all

Punkster

Today I'm a bit sleepy thanks to two mosquitoes. Went to bed, turned off light...and heard that typical whining sound. Turned on light, trapped mosquito in container. Went back to bed, turned off light again...
Nearly asleep...more whining. Ominously close to my ear. Turned on light again, got out of bed groggily and spent half an hour tracking down the little beast. Managed to trap it after failing to flatten it out with a book. Went back to bed in a very bad mood.

LADYPINKtomato1

Well, today i went to the urologist.

On friday i'll have a procedure done in my....... well, i'm a little bit scared... but the doctor said i'll take only 15 ~ 20mins and it's ambulatory.

Still, i'm scared..

A Guy

Caution ....don't be lifting anything that's the least bit heavy for a few days..
Follow your doctors orders to a " T ".. you'll be less likely to have any complications, later.
I hope everything goes really well, keep us informed.

Today was the hotest August in last 120years. At 2PM temperatutes was 42C at shade, and 48C at sun.

Punkster

Thank you, guys, i'll keep you all informed tomorrow. I guess i'll be home @ 4pm, the intervention is at 2pm (-4.5 GMT) and according to the doctor (craziest doctor i've seen so far... he drives a Harley Davidson, does skateboarding and he's 56yrs old... but he graduated with my mom so at least i know i'm in good hands) it'll be done in 15 ~ 20mins, i guess i'll bring my iPod to distract myself.. since the anesthesia is local, i won't be completely sedated, just the part i can't name here in the forums. hehe. and i'm a little bit afraid of needles and scalpels.

i think that storm had traveled down to us by midday Joan, the main road got so flooded the manhole covers were blowing off, a car driving through the flood got stuck in the manhole and closed part of the road for a while,
still, the gardens will appreciate it.

Well, i'm home.. Today was my surgery.. It was quick as the doctor said i would be: it actually took from 2:53pm to 3:15pm.... 22mins

The worst part, I have to say the anesthesia, damn... it hurt like S#!t! after the anesthesia I didn't feel anything in the area.

Of course, I have to say that those 22mins were really uncomfortable for 3 reasons:

1) The Doctor's nurse is about my age and really cute.
2) She was touching and grabbing me down there. (at least she could have bought me one cup of coffee first)
3) She was actually joking with me (while touching and grabbing ) when the Doctor wasn't looking.

I got 2 stitches, everything went fine, the cyst is gone. I have to take 2 pills a day for 5 days, and i'll see the Doc on Monday for control.

But yeah, the surgery was on my "buddy", but i can't really tell you what the doc/nurse did to me.. I was listening to music with the headphones on, talking to a girl friend of mine on the phone, looking at the roof.. anything to get my mind off the needles and the scalpels..

I bought a few sets of nice blackout curtains today.

I've never shopped for curtains before in my life and after a significant lightening of the wallet, it will be a while before I shop for curtains again. Bloody expensive things they are. I nearly keeled over when the assistant added the total. I only wanted the curtains, not the windows as well...

(This may be no surprise to some, but until today I had never given the cost of curtains a thought. The checkout was an eye opener. Worth it though, they look great if I do say so myself )

Sorry to hear about your redundancy and I hope something suitable soon turns up for you.

The CV (resume to our friends across the pond) is all important as my grandson discovered when he was offered a job with Williams/Jaguar.

He was told his CV was a big help in that all it did was list where he worked, the dates and in what capacity. And he listed two referees who gave him a good reference.

Good luck in your job hunting.

When I was getting my eyes treated, I have seen a lot of persons having such surgeries .... and I asked them .... it is not troublesome at all .

I hope everything goes well for you Bill.

One of our neighbours has recently had her vision corrected by laser surgery and says it's the best money she's ever spent.

Guest

Thanks everyone, apparently I have the onset of old Seems like it will just be the left eye done since the right is such a small prescription needed. That's good since 1/2 the cost. May have a need to do the right down the road, but should see quite an improvement.

May do the mono vision thing (one eye for close up, one for far away). Anyway, never worn glasses, but would need to soon, especially for whenever have to take next driving test. They've just emailed me a new one for the last 12 years, good driving record don't ya know

Next thur. they do a "trial frame" exam, to see what's best choice for me, and then 9/16 I get zapped

I suppose you haven't noticed your 3rd medal with you bad vision in the one eye...
Donna and I both just had our eye's checked.
Through Kaiser Donna's laser surgery would cost $1900 for both eyes.
For me that charge would be free as long as I could get someone to take me to the Salvation Army for a white cane.
Best of luck Bill!

Hi guys, I know I haven't been around for a while but currently had a lot on, Hannah's been off on her summer holidays for the past 6 weeks, I went away and fell ill on day two of my hols with food poisoning from rice and had to abandon the hol on day 5 as was getting gradually worse, now to top it off I've pulled my back out so currently look lobsided! LOL! You've gotta laugh although it hurts to do so. hope you are all well and hope to frequent the site more often once she returns to school. If anybody has any remedies on putting my back back in place then please share I'm very much open to options right now.

Hello there, Forum!

Today i'm a little nervous, I have a job interview in exactly 55min. Yesterday I sent my resume to an electronics store and today i got a call from Human Resources.

I'm opting for a Sales Consultant job (that's what the lady in human resources told me)

Wish me luck. *fingers crossed*

Cheers

Other than a chiropractor (quack), you might see if some heating pads and John rubbing it for you may help.

I love the comment by Spoony about his gorgeous girlfriend.

"Love love love this! Took me a little while to get used to the strong smell but now I adore it, it's a lovely spicy smell. I suffer a lot with my neck and shoulders but luckily have an awesome (and gorgeous) girlfriend who gives me a lot of massages. The whole experience of this massage bar is wonderful, it smells great and really helps to warm and relax tense muscles. I have been known to nod off while receiving a massage! When I open the drawer it is kept in just the smell of it makes me instantly relax. Really good value for money as well because it lasts FOREVER!"

Glad to see you back Baroness, sorry to hear about the illness and that it spoilt your holiday as for the back, well, many years ago when I put my back out my GP just did a lot of pulling and twisting of my joints, then the silly man told me to rest for a couple of weeks. I mean how are you supposed to rest when you have a baby and toddler to look after

I know when I was having bad muscle spasms in my back a couple of years ago the chiropractor sorted that out very quickly and easily, well it was him that told me he thought I had Osteoporosis which started the ball rolling getting it diagnosed and the treatment started.

I hope yours isn't the start of anything serious so you try and get it sorted out before it gets worse, and it's nice to have you back with us.

[Droopy] Hello, all you happy people [/Droopy]

Well, yesterday was my interview... it extended for almost an hour and a half... even though i'm the most indicated one for the job and i was offered almost 1000$ a month for it (here, minimum wage is 360$/month, because of the change rates), their work schedules don't match with mine (because i'm still in college), of course, the manager told me that he was going to see what can be done to fit me in...

I won't sacrifice my education for 1000$ per month, at least not now...

Well, i have to see if i can find a part-time job instead of a full time

Baroness, long time no see hope you get well soon about the back issues.

Bill! didn't notice the 3rd badge! 'grats, Mate!

To all of you, enjoy your weekend

Punkster, you should be proud of yourself. Obviously others recognize your talents.

I once had a potential employer offer me $1000 to stay away and never fill out another application.

Well after almost 3 months of flooding around here the river has dropped over 6 foot enough where the water is off our levees which is a good feeling were going to start bringing our valuables home next week.

Here is what the Interstate Highway north of our city looks like after three months of Rushing water on it. They say it may take two years to repair it.

Here is what some of the farm fields look like those of you who are not familiar with center pivot irrigation those are at least 8 to 10 foot tall some may never farm again. That in the sand from the river.

No not at all, but some that live with in 1/2 mile of the levees have been pumping water out of their basements for 2 1/2 months and will be pumping for maybe another 2 months our flood stage is 29 feet we will get there in about two more weeks but it needs to drop another 4 feet for these people's basements and the groundwater to dry up a little.

sure hope Georgia gets some of the nice easy rain.. they too need a soaking.

It rained a bit here early this morning. Maybe 0.15 in.
The wind is blowing dust again already.

The ground looks like it never rained a drop.

marsmimar

Someone remind me ... what's rain?

marsmimar

It comes in little drops of water out of the sky and sometimes it comes down in sheets of water from big, black clouds. Sometimes, it even rains all day.

When was the last time you had any rain and more's to the point, how do you cope with these long, dry periods you've obviously been having?

Thanks for that reminder, Andrew. I kinda thought it was something like that.

There's a fairly wide disparity on when we've received the last rainfall in San Antonio. The official records are compiled at the San Antonio Int'l Airport. But I don't know a single person who actually lives there so individual neighborhoods have slightly different data. My specific neighborhood has received less than 3 inches of rain so far in 2011 as recorded by a local and official NOAA monitoring station. The Airport has recorded about twice that. Normal rainfall for the first 8 months of any given year averages about 25 inches with a yearly average of about 32 inches. I think the last rain I actually witnessed was in early June when we had a brief thunderstorm in late afternoon. It dumped about .03 inches. A real frog drowner. (Sarcasm intentional.)

I'm coping by conserving local water and using imported water. In other words, I'm drinking more Carling Black Label and Guinness Extra Stout.

Why thank you, Andrew! I had the good fortune to spend some time at RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall back in the '70s and some local chaps tried to educate and introduce this Yank barbarian (their words!) to some of the finer things in life. I'll certainly give Magners a go. Looks quite refreshing.

Me: Yes. How may I help you?
Girl: Stay on the line, sir.
Mrs: Hello, Punkster Sanders?

Mrs: I'm the director of the Marketing School (University), i'm calling to let you know that we need to see you ASAP, today.
Me: Ok, is something wrong?

Ten years ago today I woke and turned the TV on. The today show out of NYC was on a breaking new story of a plane crashing in to the World Trade Center north tower.. The pictures were frightening. Commentators were mulling over how this could have happened. Several minutes later their live picture showed a second plane crashing into the other WTC Tower. My thoughts said, "we are under attack".
Then a report of an "explosion" at the Pentagon. Then a plane missing over Pennsylvania. I had this day off work so I watched in horror as the truth behind all these events unfolded.
A reporter remarked that smoke had obscured the view of one tower. He didn't know at the time WTC2, the south tower, had collapsed. United flight 93 was reported down in PA. The Pentagon explosion was revealed to be yet another plane crashing.
Nineteen terrorists from theIslamist militant groupal-Qaedahijacked four passenger jets killing 2977 people on the ground and on the four aircraft.

It does not seem ten years have passed.

I was asleep until 12:30PM that day, having been out drinking the night before. Someone called my cell phone and woke me up and asked what I thought of what was happening, and I had no idea....quite a shock going downstairs and having my coffee while watching that awful footage.

Hopalong X

My sister called long distance. She asked me if I was watching TV, no I said.
"Turn on the TV I'll call you back later."

One tower was billowing smoke and everyone thought accident but how could that be?
Within five minutes the second plane hit and we all knew then......

I went in less than ten minutes a normal boring day in my life, to how tragic, to we are under attack!

ten years ago today ,i was ill . i had had a psychotic episode ( my first) and at that time my belief systems were all over the place ,i was a direct descendent of jesus and that i had special powers, i thought that i lived in a world where people communicated by telepathy ( those that had been switched on that is)
i also thought that because of my special godlike powers that every time i lost my temper that a major disaster would occur and that as i was the latest to be switched on that all the news events were cover stories about me.
needless to say that when the news broke about the towers here in the UK i believed it was my fault and that i was responsible.
that was some burden to carry for a period of a week or so.
Eventually the medication started to work (thankfully!) and my thought patterns regained some sanity.
Ten years on i had a repeat psychotic episode strangely enough with the same belief patterns and this time it was the japan earthquake and tsunami, again the meds kicked in and bent my head back into shape .
9/11 will always have a particular memory for me not just because it reminds me that i was ill at the time ,but i had such a profound feeling of the loss
my sincerest condolences to everyone who holds a connection to that time in life , hopefully one day terrorism and war will be a thing of the past, and that my children witness it.

A Guy

I was home sick that day, and up feeling ick. At first there was speculation a small plane had crashed into the tower, like the military plane that hit the Empire State building. But then the 2nd jet screamed in to the second tower, and it hit everyone...this was intentional. I called my parents and told them turn on CNN. It was a horrific experience, and quite surreal. The Howling Wolves

The Sunday before we were on our first cruise to Alaska.
I am an early riser so I went up and had breakfast and came back to the room and turn on the television.
Thought I was watching a new movie as I couldn't believe that a small plane could do that much damage. Then the 2nd plane came in and I shook my wife so she could confirm what I was seeing. Could not believe what happened nor will I forget.

LADYPINKtomato1

Those planes and what they did will forever be etched in my mind.. this mornig while watching some of it before going to church.. ( I missed Sunday School watching some of it ).. had to turn it off , make myself get ready for church services.. met my gf for lunch.

Thorsen

Thanks for the congrats to all. Hope all is well for everyone today. I have reflected on the anniversary a bit today. Given thanks to the men and women who serve or served and hope for more peaceful times to come.

In the interest of "quality control" you might suggest to her that you have to make sure all of the features are fully operational. And that will require a very prolonged time to test drive it.

Haha. In the interests of my own health & safety, I better leave the damn thing alone, and fast...........

I agree. Always put health and safety first on the list. Especially if it's your own!

Today I was at hospital, and the doctor schedules me operation for my eye lid on Wednesday,21st.

Punkster

Today, well... 5mins ago, i got a call from the electronics store that wanted me for the Sales Consultant job, they want to see me today @ 4:30pm

The manager told me to go there today and that they have an offer for me. They know my schedule in college, so i guess it's not going to interfere!

Boshko, is something wrong with your eye? hope everything goes just fine!

StalkeR

Yes,I have "barley" on my left eye. Exaclly I have 3 of them, and it must be operated.

The Howling Wolves

Are the "barley's" caused from checking out all the girls at school or from wood splinters from looking
through peep holes? hehehehe
I never got them as I wear glasses...

Punkster

OHHH! i had one of those like 12 years ago.

The doctor removed it in 20mins or less, can't remember, i was barely 10yrs old at that time. It's an ambulatory operation, so i guess you have nothing to worry about!

Tell the doctor to assign you a hot nurse at least you'll distract your other eye

Yes,I'm not worried about that. And for "that",I'll have it on my mind.

Sometimes the eye lash gets in grown or the eye lash folicle gets plugged.

I get one occasionally but they heal in a week or so.

Sometimes they just won't heal properly.

Good luck it shouldn't be a big deal.
Make sure to get your lollipop when they are done.

It could have been worse.

The nurse could have been .

Now that would have been embarassing!!!

Liver is enlarged. All the liver panel blood tests check good.

So it is inflammed but functioning properly.

Might be left over from pneumonia and the antibiotics triggered it.

Considering the strain my liver is on from the other 10 medicines I take everyday.

Hemoglobin is maintaining so far this week. Recheck tomorrow morning.

Also the blood tests they did last Friday came back.
Almost all RBC's destroyed are smashed so it is my mechanical mitral valve.

The liver just adds to the problem or is a side effect on the RBC count.

Changing the mitral valve to a pig valve would help the RBC count to go normal if I survived the surgery.

Cardio docs still say that is a REALLY bad idea. Three different ones now.

They may have a point.

Punkster

Right now i'm laughing telling this..

But the day of the surgery.. i was extremely ashamed because i had a 23-ish years old, REALLY HOT nurse, touching, grabbing and cleaning the area being operated... You mess with a man's "tool" and you'll leave him broken...

My self esteem went all the way down to zero when the surgery ended!

And the worst thing is that the nurse was talking to me, messing around, joking.. (i could tell that she wanted me to feel uncomfortable xD)

Hopalong X

Punkster

I figured by now you would get a laugh about it.

Hopalong X

Doctor ordered another liver panel to go with CBC and Iron tomorrow.

If liver panel looks good and CBC is decent keep an eye on it and see if hemoglobin stays up.

A blood specialist isn't going to help.
I'm making more than enough RBC's for a normal person just not enough to out pace the valve destroying them.

Catch-22

The Howling Wolves

Mike,
Are some of those 10(+ or -) meds counter-productive with the valve/transfusions?
I am sure you are not the only person experiencing this problem so you might want to check websites for mitral valve forums where you can read what others are experiencing.
I do that for Donna and the type of infusion she is on.

Just a thought Mike! Just a thought.

Hopalong X

Mechanical heart valves can also cause hemolytic anemia with hemolysis of the red blood cells as they pass through the valve.
Hemolytic anemia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The RBC's being destroyed has been occuring since the first valve installed in 1988.
I made more than enough RBC's to replace the destroyed ones.

As I have gotten older as everyone does production has decreased but still more than a normal person without a mechanical valve needs....

...but not enough for someone with a mechanical valve.

Tomorrow 9/16 I go under the laser myself. Having LASIK eye surgery, More precisely Bladeless Custom Wavefront LASIK. Doing only the left eye as the right is almost 20/20. Left eye been slacking for years, so going to make it do 1/2 the work from now on. Not worried so much as anxious, as I know exactly what the procedure entails. May not be on at all tomorrow, even though my right eye will be unchanged. Imagine, me not posting for a whole day

Hope all goes well with the rest of you guys for the surgeries and Lasik and all

Murphy stuck again for me today. The trailer hitch I was gonna have put on our minivan finally came in.... and it was the wrong part. So I wont have that for our move this weekend. We will be driving up with the van and getting a friend to travel later this month with all the rest of our stuff.....

On Monday or Tuesday I should be posting from Boston (if I'm not to busy to hop on here)

Thorsen! good luck in boston, and cheers for getting the job. It deserves a toast

I need to go there today to polish some details about the job. I'm going to get paid more than minimum wage for only 24 hours/week, i'll be working 4 hours a day monday to saturday.

Yesterday's interview lasted 2:30 hours. We talk about their problems, how are they going to handle them, what they want me to do for them, some research and investigations, possible projects, it's a full list... Basically, they need me there. They're going to open a Marketing Department (because they don't have one) and i'll be the Marketing Manager. I got to choose my schedule, i can choose how i want to work, and my direct boss is CEO of the store.

So i guess i'll go there today, give him my final thoughts and if everything works out fine, i'll start on monday!

Nice you had a nice outing with your wife Actually, I was typing with one eye...went back to typing with my fingers I was typing with one eye closed however, as they suggest keeping it closed as much as possible. I slept most of the day off and on as it's easier to keep both eyes closed. I'm wearing a plastic shield, to prevent accidentally hitting the eye. But even through the shield, and the still healing eye, it's obvious how improved my sight is in that eye. Tomorrow I go back for the first after checkup, and by tomorrow night, I should have a good diea exactly how my sight will be. A worthwhile expense no doubt. Take care, A Guy

top tip for chopping wood ,
put three to four logs inside an old tyre then chop , the split logs stay within the tyre and you dont have to go round picking up the logs as they ping all over the place, you can raise the tyre up on something to save bending also .

Glad to hear you are safe Archie.

The Howling Wolves

Today will be my 1st day at my new job!

I'm a little nervous because i have to deal with the fact that i don't know anyone in there, so i guess i'll have to be polite and stuff.. luckily i'm a sociable guy.

I have to be there in 2hrs. Lucky for me, the building is less than mile away... i can go there walking

Congratulations on the new job. Is it early morning delivery or an evening newspaper? I remember years ago having to wake up at 3am to deliver papers by 6am and then go to school.
