Hi shadow, maybe try something like this, you need to add contrast to the text & colour
to the windows logo, the background is fine, looks like Carbon. Hope this helps

The problem there is that it's all one file when saved and not individual items. Then you could change from the solid white background as well as use them as separate logos in different arrangements.

I keep forgetting one other thing namely even on the Virtual PC I'm alwayes looking for some new gadget or wallpaper. So keep them coming!

'Glass' effect (AKA Extended Text Effect) in Photoshop:

1. Select the layer you wish to 'reflect' (If it's a text layer 'Rasterise' it),



2. Duplicate the layer (right-click and "Duplicate Layer") and Flip new layer Vertically ("Edit" menu->"Transform"->"Flip Vertically"),



3. Press 'v' on your keyboard to activate the move tool, then tap the down arrow on your keyboard to align the flipped layer,



4. The goto "Layer" menu->"Layer Mask"->"Reveal All", then select the "Gradient Fill" tool.


5. Making sure the gradient Tool fades from Black to clear, apply the fade as you would expect.




6. Admire the finished product!



EDIT: the Black fade act's as a mask so it will work over any background etc...

I was trying out the mirror image trick that Generator generously provided a tutorial on. As usual when I try something new I got "lost" in trying out other un-related stuff as well (don't we all).

At any rate I can now do mirror reflections in Photoshop Elements 5.0 and Paint.Net but this photo proved unsuitable for it, IMO.

Well this one did not work out as I intended at all. It is also not a very good desktop image due to the rather large "florescent light" the lady is holding.

But I fiddled with it so long I thought I would post it anyway as an idea generator if nothing else ...

I spent about an hour on this, a lot of messing about with patterns mainly, i ended up going with the honeycomb background effect and the grate sidebar for gadgets, don't forget this is for my wide-screen 40"HDTV (1920X1080) so if you use it on a non wide-screen the gadget bar maybe out, if you would like one in your screen resolution, just PM me!!

The water just seemed to add an extra depth in my eyes.

it will show up like this

I really like this wallpaper someone here posted a while back (especially the background color texture and gradient) and I just wonder if someone could upload it in 1920 x 1080 resolution and take out the dragon from the center part but leave the rest of the center in. Possibly some different center logos might look good with this as well.

The Photoshop filter is called Lens Flare and it's on the Render menu Sergio mate.

There is a Photoshop plugin that does it better with the option to customize every part of the flare called 'Knoll Light Factory' and it's by 'Digital Anarchy', which I can very highly recommend.

Sorry but I tried myself but I can't blow the picture up that big from the size the original has been provided in. It causes too many artifacts and just looked really poor quality.
