"Access Denied" for "Documents and Settings" part 1

frostfrank

I have tried logging on as the hidden Admin and I have checked my permissions but I still can't access this folder. I think there are some Firefox files in this folder and I need to see them.
Any help?
Thanks,
Frank

In short anything in "Document and Settings" is in "Users".

need to take ownership of that shortcut... Then you wil be able to access the folder

Delphin and Ryo.....BAD advice. "Documents and Settings" is no longer used. It is simply a junction point to the Users folder. YOU SHOULD NEVER, EVER CHANGE THE PERMISSIONS OR OWNERSHIP ON "DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS." It will cause HUGE problems and has been documented on these forums many times.

To the OP...the files you want are in Users, or they do not exist on the drive. Documents and Settings is not a folder under Windows 7. It is only a junction point (a "link") to the Users folder.

S macgyvr I know that it is a shortcut(Link) i mentioned that in my earlier post also....

But taking ownership of the link will do nothing..

In my computer i did that when i started using windows vista and it the same in windows 7 also...

-documents-settings.png

As he is curious to make the link to work.. i suggested it..

And there is absolutely no point to mess with it. Go to C:\Users

Bad suggestion, I'm sorry to say. Good advice would have been for him to leave it alone. We try to solve problems, not make new ones.

ryo

he is just want to see the contain of the file.
not sure for what..
but i think there is nothing of there.

Thanks to all who replied!
I will leave Documents and Settings alone.
Found what I needed in users.
Thanks again!
