Windows 7 Incompatibility with video card part 1

Phillip

I'm creating this topic here in order to see if someone
Can you help me
in my problem. = /

Until yesterday when I used Windows XP on my PC, then I format it for
puts Windows 7
And my video card is incompatible with it (nVidia Geforce
6200 A-LE 512)
Drive when you install it the screen goes black every time that you start
Windows when it
just uploaded the video and not the most unique way and restart, since
I went into safe mode to see if the drive was correctly
installer, and the device manager
shown that it is correctly installed, I tried the low drive more
Her updated, and still not working properly, and when I use
board on-board it works normally.
Does anyone have a solution? '-'

I'll find the drivers for you, but I need to know if you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7. If you don't know, open the start menu, and right click Computer. Click Properties. Look for System Type. Tell me what it says.

Phillip

The windows 7 32 Bit

Thanks *-*

Petey7

As soon as you click the link below the driver will start downloading. If you are using a computer other than the one with the problem, copy the file to a USB drive, or CD. Then install it to the right computer from there. If your on the same computer, just install it.

Phillip

I installed the drive correctly, over time the Windows startup it emits a blue screen
And the computer automatically restarts

What to do?

Petey7

Start a new thread in the crashes and debugging part of the site. Your video card might actually have a hardware issue. In that case it will need replacing.

Phillip

Problem and not hardware.
I tested the card on another computer with Windows XP, run normally
With Windows 7, which is giving this error.v

Petey7

And you sure it's 7 32bit and not 64bit right? Actually, you know what you have better than I do. Uninstall all drivers for the nVidia card. Restart your computer with the monitor connected to the on-board graphics. Then go here and pick out you card, or second option to let it take care of finding it for you : Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

DO NOT SKIP ANY STEP THAT I MENTIONED. If you do, it will not work. Period.

Phillip

Yes I'm sure that Windows 7:32 bit.

I did as you said without skipping even one step.
the problem continues

I think I'll end up giving up on Windows 7 = /

Petey7

Considering how much 7 cost, and that future programs and drivers will be made with 7 in mind more than XP, I'd give up on the card first. Have you tried other slots on your motherboard. The slot might be bad. Or we can see about trying to flash the BIOS. I've helped a couple people in the past week that had really weird, unrelated symptoms that were fixed by flashing the BIOS.

Phillip

Update my BIOS would solve the problem?
That my motherboard and it's not so good, and a PhiTronics k8V800-M

What I find strange in Windows XP and it works normally
No problem

Petey7

Are both 7 and XP installed on the same computer, or two different ones?

Phillip

Windows 7 is installed, I installed Windows XP, to test only.
More installed only Windows 7

Petey7

Okay. I thought you were saying you were removing the card from a PC with 7 on it, to a completely different PC with XP installed on it. That is a little different, and I don't feel that BIOS flashing would fix it, but I might try to get a second opinion on that. I'm gonna look for other possible fixes and get back to you.

Phillip

I'll be waiting
Thank you for your attention, this helps me too

Have you tried running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor?

I auditioned with him here.

this was the only mistake.
Support for Windows Aero:
Your current graphics adapter will not support the user interface of Windows Aero. If you want to take advantage of Windows Aero, contact your dealer or computer manufacturer to see if an update is available.

I have already installed the drive it for Windows 7.
(NVidia GeForce 6200 A-LE 512)

Petey7

That explains it! Your card can't support the newer graphics of Windows 7. I suggest going to a local retailer and finding a new, cheap card that can handle it. I'm sure someone there can help you find what you need. Otherwise, you'd have to not use Aero and possibly some other fancier graphics of Windows 7 to get it to work properly.

Great, Upgrade Advisor to the rescue!

Are you using AGP card?

My two old AGP Nvidia 6200 (256mb) cards easily support/run with Win 7 aero!

You must have a wrong setting somewhere.

Look in your Bios and set the "video aperture" to 256. preferably >128 or 64! Test and see if it works.

After you loaded the new graphic driver did you go into
"Control Panel" > "Performance Information & Tools" > Run the 'assessment' if it asks you to! Takes 5-10 minutes! Otherwise known as 'WEi'

Win 7 will crash on you and do other unexplainable silly things(like refuse to run Aero!) till you run this assessment!

Did you run windows update?
After installing my Win7 Ultimate, m/soft found a number of newer drivers which it loaded for the Motherboard (like pci bus) which stopped blue-screen crashes straight after update/restart!
