random BSOD and sometimes freeze on shut down part 1

januarwijaya

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (original OS when i bought the notebook, so its OEM)
age of hardware and OS about 1-2 months
dell inspiron 14R (inspiron N4010)

just got BSOD 2 days ago once, and today (twice)
at the first bsod, suddenly my keyboard unable to use, so i restart, and then the bsod happened.

BSOD occurs when start up the windows (after login screen)
the BSOD is not always happened

also sometimes, when i safely remove my removeable devices (hardisk or USB flash disk), they weren't removed from the system, but i cant acces the drive
after that, when i shut down or restart the notebook, it hangs up in the 'shutting down' screen, so i have to hold the power button to stop it
this 'unable to remove from system' problem happened about 1 weeks ago.

please help me guys. thanks for your answer/ help.

Can you please search for it, as I have never seen a case where it was not created in the documents folder before. If you can't find it then run the application again, this time double-checking that you are running it as an administrator.

Please update your webcam drivers from your laptop manufacturer: Welcome to Home User Support

If you have an external webcam update the drivers from it's manufacturer too.

A few other items to take care of:

Uninstall Avira

While I do not think it was the cause in this case, stranger things have happened.

Avira Uninstallation instructions (follow these exactly): Avira Solutions - Knowledge Base Problem Details

Install MS Security Essentials --> http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
Uninstall McAfee

For the same reason as above
Quote:
Remove McAfee using the McAfee Removal Tool (MRT) -

MRT --> http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe

Download the MRT & save to desktop. Boot into SAFEMODE (NO Networking) - tap F8 key during boot-up. Then go to desktop, RIGHT-click on the MRT icon and select Run as Administrator.

When complete - re-boot.

Then reset the Windows Firewall to its default settings -
START -> type cmd.exe -> right-click -> run as administrator -> type netsh advfirewall reset press enter

You beat me to it reventon !..

januarwijaya

found it in my download folder
heere you are

Tews

Unfortunately, it didnt contain any .dmp files... Check c:/windows/minidump and zip up any .dmp files and attach them to your next post... Thanks..

januarwijaya

the dmp files is insede the 1.rar and 2.rar
you can also find in the reply post that i've just posted
thanks

januarwijaya

i wanna ask about my antivirus uninstalation
why do i have to uninstal both of them? is there any explanation?

ttran

For your question, Third party antivirus program are notorious for causing BSODs and yours are not exceptions. Microsoft Security essential was created by Microsoft (who know about OS you are using better than them), and it is BSODs free.

Tews

Your .dmp file points to usbvideo.sys as the cause of your crash. USBvideo.sys is part of Windows 7 and I suspect something is driving it out of bounds to fault.

Do these to clear corruption and repair/replace damaged/missing system files.

Start - type in Search box - COMMAND find at top of list - RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN

Run it again please, it might fix more files for you. Also, by running it again, we can eliminate that system file are really corrupted and unable to fix.

januarwijaya

have done it 3 times. only the first one found a corrupted files.

Jonathan_King

Hopefully the webcam update solved it...if not, disconnect it and see what happens.

januarwijaya

for now, i disable a start up (dell webcam central) which is a 32 bit application (i got it from the starter pack of dell, together with mcafee 64bit). this start up was used to decorate my webcam so we can design our webcam view.
I wonder how cam dell become so careless to set the application as a start up and make such a crash. hmm.

thx anyone for your help and explanation.

Any third party software can cause BSODs. For example, my dad computer is Dell too, and last month, a thing called CinemalNow Media Manager keep crashing on my dad's laptop either at startup or when I put the laptop into sleep or shutdown, So I removed it

januarwijaya

I uninstall the avira
i install MSE
but my laptop now became so slow
some programs failed to launch

I just restore the comp to previous state, but now it cannot load
can anyone help???

Jonathan_King

What happens when it doesn't load? Does it error? Does it reboot?

januarwijaya

i dont know, suddenluy it offers me to get into start up repair, cause it cannot get into the windows.
currently it trying to repair it

januarwijaya

at the startup repair, it was writen 'your computer was unable to start'

Jonathan_King

Try a startup repair from the Windows DVD 3 times:

Startup Repair

januarwijaya

before i try to restore it
suddenly the network connection doesnt work, but in the connection manager, it was written that there is an internet access.
ang it hangs up several times

januarwijaya

still 'attempting repairs'

januarwijaya

the start up repai Done with a failure
but the windows can be started on THE LAST POSITION (it means the recovery failed)
but the boot time is faster than before start up repair occured

let me check it again
will inform you again

januarwijaya

replace delldock with the 32 bit version and work smoothly

i count the time of my windows load up
from windows loading screen to logon screen about 15 seconds
from login screen after enter the password to my edsktop, needs about 45 seconds
i think its too slow
any idea how to make it faster?
my start up only mcafee, mse, synaptic toucpad, and blue tooth tray
before the failed restoration, it takes faster than this

ttran

Go to Run-->msconfig-->Startup and try disable everything except window process to see if it improve your machine's startup speed.

Jonathan_King

Try this: Optimize Windows 7

januarwijaya

hanged up again when i updateing somedrivers (vga, lan, sound)
when the driver ask to restart, i restart, then it hang in the 'force restarrt screen'
then i hold the power button, powered it up again, it bsod and restart

im dumping the data now
ill attach them soon

januarwijaya

bsod data

ttran

There is no crash dump file, follow this instruction instead:
Quote:
Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and copy all of the dmp files to the desktop. Select all>right-click on one>Send to>New Compressed folder. Then attach the zip file to your next post by use of the paperclip icon in the advanced editor.

Please enable driver verifier: Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers

I see some high-risk programs. Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

McAfee is also known for causing crashes. Remove it with this tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe

Replace it with the free MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Code:
 BugCheck 3B, {c0000005, fffff80002e69171, fffff88007868ec0, 0} Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!AlpcpQueueIoCompletionPort+41 )

januarwijaya

i'm too affraid to use the driver verifier, caus as you know my os is an OEM which mean i dont have any back up dvd or the installer.

i've uninstall alcohol and mcafee. let see for the next 48 hours.

do you have any suggestion for cd virtualization program which is not having problem with 7 64 bit?

thankls

Jonathan_King

Sure, MagicDisc is okay.

Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview

Don't worry about the backup. Just make sure to create a repair disc first. See this tutorial: System Repair Disc - Create

januarwijaya

i keep seeing this error in the event viewer
Session "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D

and these warning in the event viewer
LMS Service cannot connect to Intel(R) MEI driver
WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully stopped.

do you have any idea wqhat caused these? thanks

januarwijaya

oh, one again
about the stpd thing
do i have to uninstall it or update it?

Jonathan_King

Uninstall it completely. Even the updated version caused BSODs.

januarwijaya

ok, everything looks under control now, except those 3 warning at my event viewer and one more about DNS look up. Please inform me if u know anything about those errors and warnings in event viewer.

will wait for 2x24hr to see if there 's any problem with this.

about the failed safely remove removable disk, do you know what cause this?
symptom: i safely remove my HDD, it was removed, but without any notification about a safe removal, when i check at my comp the drive still exist, but unable to be oppened (error). after that, the system cannot detect any newly plugged devices on USB and got a freeze at the shutting down woindows. i still affaraid to plug my usb devoces now.

januarwijaya

ok no more bsod
the onluy existing problem is that sometimes the shutting down screen freeze again. the main cause is the fail to safely remove disk problem i said before
when im safely remove my disk, it doesnt tyell anything. it removed from my safely removed list, but the drives are stil remaining on the my computer
have any opinion on my case?

januarwijaya

ok, thanks all, no more problem, just the USB problem only now. thanks again

Jonathan_King

You may see if a Repair Install clears that up.
