Pooman, how do you get your images to extend beyond the locked size of the image like in your siggy? I would like to make a siggy shaped like something other than a rectangle. Just to add, I use GIMP. +1 on 1 Bowties siggy. That is wicked good.

Hello I will up-load the color's I wanted, underneith the vista logo I wanted to put my users name which is (Americancritic) and then on the far left side I wanted to incroporate a white wolf with his eyes glowing out all the vista colors and logo. So like the whole thing would look like it is all coming from the wolf's eye's. I hpoe this makes sense and thank you very much for getting back to me so soon. In vistax64 I am a vista Pro and supporter but I do not have on my system Photoshop or other programs to do this and you were highly recommended by others over here.

Hello I am very sorry to all if I was misunderstood, I am looking to use this one as my signature avatar which will be at the bottom of my page like (The Howling Wolves). Starting from the far left side where the colors start to come alive and then they go across the avatar to where the vista logo is, the eyes of the wolf should glow with the colors of the avatar as if the wolf made the color's him self and then under the vista logo would be the name (Americancritic). I am sure that this kind of thing is probably very hard. I don't have a clue how these are even made.
So the avatar would start from the left with the white wolf who's eyes would be sending out the color of the colors and then it would go all the way across to the right where the logo is. In Vistax64 the spec's are 600 by 100 Pixels.

There is a difference between avatars and sigs.
Let me know what size you are allowed by looking in the User CP and at the bottom of edit signature is the size you are going to be allowed!

Hello and not really what I wanted also I am a vistax64.com which is the sister of the seven's forum. I was sent to you by richc46. In your sig for the howling wolves you have some real nice wolves what I am trying to do is have a white wolf on the other end from the vista logo and the light that come's out of the wolfs eyes would be all the colors of the vista color. I just thought of this when Commissioner Gordon in batman needed batman he turned on a search light and at the end of the search light came the batman emblem, so kind of like that.
First on the other end away from the logo there would be a white wolf and then out of his eyes would would come the colors of the vista color leading over to the vista logo and then right under the logo would be the word Americancritic. I have a scanner I am not very good at this but maybe I could sketch something and then scan it and send it to you.

Hello I am trying to think of something a little easer. Maybe you could make lightning coming out of his eyes making the vista color and logo.
So maybe a lightning bolt from the eye's of the wolf and the lightning bolt stays lit, I am sending this for an idea.

Ths sig is on there but it won't show where it is suppose to, there is no box to check for use custom avatar mine reads upload image from your computer. I don't know if it is the wording or what I am doing wrong help please. It only loads this far and not on the post page.

Don't know what the requirements are in Vista. Left them over 7 months ago.
Check with someone in Vista on how to post your sig!

Hello in vistax64 the Max of a avatar can only be 600 by 100 pixels ot 488.3 KB no exceptions maybe because it was 650 by 100 or so, I am trying to figure it all out but it will not upload anything over those pixels.

Extremely sorry mate .... as I am not in Vista Forums (I have used Vista for only a couple of weeks
), I dont know the specifications thereto ... and made the sigs as per the specifications of Seven Forums

I got to thinking that I limited your creative thinking. So I am wondering if it be possible to not put limitaions on your ideas and just say would you please make one and give you full power to creat one without any boarders except it must be to the forums rules of 600 by 100 pixels. If you decide to then please do if not I understand there must be a whole lot of people asking for your help. Any way have a great night I am heading back to the new posts.

A P.I. for 19 years, hunt, fish, camp, Ride motorcycles, dunebuggys, race, I have been shot once and I am still hear, and love getting into the cage for another round, and I sill teach the art when I can so with this maybe someone can think of something out of this world to do with the name americancritic.

Well you said you like hunting, fishing and karate so I just went into bing for images of each and found things that were useful. I take a little of this and some of that and make a sig from bits and pieces of all.
Looks like the fish is going to swallow the karate logo on the right side.

You have the talent for making sigs (artistic ability and knowledge of using your chosen graphics program) , that's why you have earned a GFX team badge.

yeecch! After I purchased it I asked myself now what am I going to do with it? It just takes time and practice. Neither of which I have patience for...heheheArc can be a big help with photoshop(when he has time!) Nick has been a godsend in helping me with Corel Draw.

Most of the programs use the same functions/terminology it's just finding the right mix that can be difficult. Once you've got your head around one program the others become allot easier to work with.
Gimp is a fantastic program as it's free and I can guarantee you once you are comfortable with it the likes of PS and Corel will be pretty easy to work out ... you just gotta learn to walk before you run

- Sorry about the late reply ok might as well post all my sigs and avatars here but I find the sigs and avatars most harder to make as the real estate is MUCH smaller and using the right pics is harder...but as you can see I like my sigs to match with my avatars..or vice versa! LOL

After selecting the circle tool hold the control key and then start dragging you circle tool. Then you can pull on the corners to enlarge or shrink the circle evenly...
This will make your logo's in your sig appear round not oblong.
Just a helpful hint if you so choose. Wax on Wax off type of lesson from the Master...

Left click on large ribbon(the with size underneath it)then once it opens do a right click and save as MS Ribbon or whatever. Now you have it saved and remember where you saved it.
Take your sig in Vista and just add the ribbon(you may have to reduce the size) someplace on your sig. I don't have Vista anymore or belong to Vista Forum.
May have to get help from someone in the Vista Forum.

Hello the pixel in vista can't be anymore then 600 by 100. My Sig is that size, all of you got togehter and made my sig with the white wolf and the colors of vista coming from his eyes which is beautiful. I don't have a way to resize the ribbon. Do I just try to paste it to my sig or how does that work.

i'll post my results back PooManUK( aka Nick) and I use Corel Draw Graphics Suite 5x. Got mine from E-Bay. Not nearly expensive as Photoshop.

If you want to buy a program, I'd suggest you to buy CorelDraw . It contains a vector editor and a bitmap editor (as you get Photoshop and Illustrator at once) , and not expensive like Adobe's programs. Moreover, there is Nick and all his wonderful tutorials life with graphics will be much easier

Just my suggestion As for myself I am trying to improve my work but it is a very slow and tedious learning curve as it is hard to grasp the concepts of working with the software (IE: I made the background of my Sig using patterns) which was done by pure luck but there is much more basic concepts to learn such as text manipulation, effects etc. before I could ever attempt to make a Sig for others, Also one must posses a certain level of artistic ability.
The reason I create a new Sig is because as stated above is to learn how to use the software and to see the result (for better or worse).

I am so sorry I forgot to tell everyone I have a new badge now it is (Vista Guru) and it is the black badge and supporter which is green so how do I get that changed on the sig. I was so exited about being able to put the new one on with the MS ribbon so I can maybe get something started in vista64 for THW I forgot to mention it I am very sorry, so please ARC forgive me for the slipup. I truly thank all of you for this I think the MS on there is important. I have been married for well like I don't know like a 100 years and just found out before I met my wife she used to go as a volunteer at the MS summer camps for kids, and she works very hard so I am just truly leaning about this horrible horrible illness, so what ever I can do I am on board, everyone just let me know.

Actually I am practicing image manipulation I made an wallpaper with it, and than planned the avatar . It's a lot of fun to take separate images and blend/edit them together into something new

Also make sure the figure body is not out of the border. Either erase the protruded portion or move it behind the border.

I too had trouble saving Sigs made for me when I first came to this forum. ..
I seemed to always save them too small .... took that second click to get
what was right , then saved.
