Just my suggestion As for myself I am trying to improve my work but it is a very slow and tedious learning curve as it is hard to grasp the concepts of working with the software (IE: I made the background of my Sig using patterns) which was done by pure luck but there is much more basic concepts to learn such as text manipulation, effects etc. before I could ever attempt to make a Sig for others, Also one must posses a certain level of artistic ability.
The reason I create a new Sig is because as stated above is to learn how to use the software and to see the result (for better or worse).

I am so sorry I forgot to tell everyone I have a new badge now it is (Vista Guru) and it is the black badge and supporter which is green so how do I get that changed on the sig. I was so exited about being able to put the new one on with the MS ribbon so I can maybe get something started in vista64 for THW I forgot to mention it I am very sorry, so please ARC forgive me for the slipup. I truly thank all of you for this I think the MS on there is important. I have been married for well like I don't know like a 100 years and just found out before I met my wife she used to go as a volunteer at the MS summer camps for kids, and she works very hard so I am just truly leaning about this horrible horrible illness, so what ever I can do I am on board, everyone just let me know.

Also make sure the figure body is not out of the border. Either erase the protruded portion or move it behind the border.

Dean you've done a very good job on your Sig..
I too had trouble saving Sigs made for me when I first came to this forum. ..
I seemed to always save them too small .... took that second click to get
what was right , then saved.

Hello thw I am not an artist but I was thing that Kesume's would look super hot with a now days frame around it. That way it does no over power the post he is helping on, maybe a frame and not tell anyone and see how it looks. Kesume is a good friend from USA to UK we help each other by email at home's.

Get almost to the end and it closes the application.
Took me a long time just to do a simple sig.
I use Corel Draw Graphic Suite X5, have you tried reinstalling ?
You should save regularly, oh and check your event viewer logs for vital details that might help you resolve the problem

Whar's interesting is it does this on my laptop as well as desktop. Not networked together and use a thumb drive to transfer data over.
Yes both are updated with SP1.
Will check with Nick and see what he comes up with before I do a re-install.

When I joined here, I had no idea about designing . My knowledge on photoshop was just knowing the name of the program . With ultimate wonder, I used to behold the outstanding designs made by PooMan, Sergio, Anthony, Dom, Deftonez ,Ch@n and others . It was Anthony who told me to have a try for the first time , and I did . After that , All the GFX guys helped me to improve myself, and the others like Derek and Randy and LPt and almost everybody encouraged me to improve myself . I was (and till now) readily ready to accept all suggestions and lessons .

Can't find my first post now, but I've been following (and contributing to) this thread since it's second or third incarnation, and I've seen some really amazing work throughout that period..I just sort of miss having new users coming around and request a sig, then before you know it they have 10 different options to choose from because everybody jumps at the opportunity to sit and play in PhotoShop for an hour or two..

Just be more specific on what you want your sig to say about you!

Just had a random thought; if anybody wants something fractalius-ized... I do have the Redfield Fractalius PhotoShop plugin.
I've had quite a bit of time to play with it now, so if anyone's looking for that type of effect, send me the pic/PSD and I'll help out. For a few examples of what it can do, have a look at this Google image search.
I find sometimes the effects alone are too extreme, but a duplicate later put through fractalius and with lowered opacity makes for some really awesome effects. By the way, I used it (again) on that sig for Jamie74656. I bet you wouldn't even have known unless I said so.... Lol.

As being allowed only one vote we are in agreement (especially z3r010) that the forum poll only allows one vote per poster anyways.
In conclusion I often post the exact same solution as others due to slow typing speed, grammar check, topic verification - etc that by the time I hit the reply button I suddenly realize 4 other people just posted the same thing.

Are you starting your sig with a transparent background?

About the multi-quote issue Ciara, Do not despair I found out (after a long while) that the multi-quote button will not work if I have the Autopager add-on enabled when using Firefox. If I disable the add-on the the multi-quote works correctly.

A bit of background on the name, I play MS Golf 2003 quite a bit with a group of friends. One of the courses is in the desert so instead of rough there is a lot of lava rock. On one particularly bad day I seemed to be in the lava rock quite often and so became the Lava King.

As you say, the more people look at something, the more opinions you'll get about it.I could go on for hours about the Mosa Lisa, but I won't bore you with those details... Suffice to say, hardly anybody smiled in portrait paintings back then.

May I impose upon someone to make a sig for me? I can picture it in my head but I have no experience or talent to make it real. I'm waiting for the day when we have direct mind connections to our computers

As an outsider to this thread I think Dennis has a good idea.
I do understand the basics of the layering- very basic.
There must be a couple of hundred backgrounds floating around between all of you that are making them.
Plus all the layers everyone makes and saves.
It would make it easier making new sigs and allow some of the people new to the process to make sigs and learn the basics of the softwares you use- might even find some new GFX'ers.
Just an outsiders two cents.

As an insider on this thread I think the sharing of images is a good idea if everyone is up for it. I just hope it doesn't stifle the imagination of those creating unique sigs. I think it would be a great if you all put some images into a special gallery that has strings attached. Like maybe something along these lines.
1. You have to earn membership into this club...
2. No one could see what is in the image gallery that has not reached a certain level.
3. I think the image club should have it's own tutorial...
4. The image club members should have something like points lets say it has it's own pips or something along those lines.
5. When members reach a certain level just like being a member of the forum you start with nothing and work your way up, then they can join the image club / sense there is no name for it at this point I think the Image club has a nice ring to it...
6. I would say that anyone can be a member of the sigs and avatars as long as they have a little talent and then from there on if they want to go higher then they have to earn it. first to show they want to be a club member and that they have what it takes to be a member...

My only intent on posting some of the backgrounds etc. would be to give someone who is software challenged or trying to learn a chance to assemble a sig and learn to use the software- which ever they choose.

But , it is not the best alone. Either Photoshop accompanied by Illustrator, or CorelDraw Graphics Suit X5 is the best .
Edit : At the same time, CorelDraw is the toughest one !

Corel consists of more that one program this is why it comes across a bit more involved. If you were trying to just learn how to use Corel PhotoPaint alone you wouldn't find it any more difficult than PS. CorelDraw is a different kettle of fish as this is a vector based program with full support for bitmap editing included .... much better value for money in my opinion

I've played around a bit with The GIMP in an Ubuntu install but didn't really get very far. However, tutorials are all over the net these days so my ignorance could probably be cured rather quickly

I started with Photoshop when I was in college. It was part of my syllabus. Also had some knowledge in CorelDraw. I have been making sigs from the year 2003 and till now no turning back. After entry into SF, learned some more from CDR after Nick showed some beautiful sigs he made.
Have also tried Gimp, but I feel the menu is all scattered and never touched it again. No Paint.net either.
As far as the gallery is concerned, yes, we can go for it.
And glad Lava King liked my sig for him.

Working on Daughter in Laws filthy dirty computer(cobwebs) inside then a whole bunch of other issues that Nick and I worked on yesterday.
Got her Pictures restored and Itunes to work but no sound.
After hours of trying to figure out what was wrong I looked my monitor and there underneath it was the control(DUH)
I had it turned off.....I am blooming stupid today. Don't ask me any technical ? today.....hehehe
