Christamapher

Ok so Windows 7 ult x64 has found my Soundblaster Card. But It Says its a Multimedia Card. And wont let me install the drivers to make it Work. I need help badly cause Onboard Sound is fried

Orbital Shark

Hi,

Can you give us the model of your soundblaster card?

Also, try uninstalling the device in Device Manager then installing the driver software.
Tip Tip
If the drivers are for previous version of Windows you'll need ti install them in Compatibility Mode for the most recent Windows they support

OS

Christamapher

I found this but I'm not entirly sure this is your fix but just read through and let me know what you think;

Sound Blaster X-Fi and Windows 7 64-bit

Orbital Shark

SB0100 is the Code on it. I have the Drivers it jsut wont let me install them it says that theres no card installed. but it hasnt moved and if i go on my XP Dive its works

Christamapher

I came up with 2 options;

Creative Worldwide Support > Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital (Dell)

Creative Worldwide Support

Christamapher

I dont see one for the ASUS

Guest

As you're running 64bit try the following tutorial

Advanced Boot Options

select 'Disable Driver Verification Enforcement' from the list then try re-installing the drivers

OS

Orbital Shark

Orbital Shark

My apologies, typo

It's actually 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement', second from the bottom of the list of commands...

Guest

Is it a custom build? It could be that somehow the card has become slightly loose and need se-seating to be detected properly.

What do u mean by that like my PC or the Windows ?

and i have a Few times still nothin...

Orbital Shark

Meaning, did you build the machine yourself or did you buy it as it is from a shop?

Christamapher

Built it myself.

Orbital Shark

Might be worth just checking that the card hasn't in some way cone slightly loose.

Christamapher

It isnt. it shows up in the Device manger as "multimedia Audio Controller. Cause the only other one that is that is the Realtek one.

Christamapher

Cause if i load in to XP x32 it SHows the Same But Works. in 7 X64 it shows that way but wont install drivers

Orbital Shark

Another question is where did you download the drivers from?

Christamapher

Creative Web site like when i got the card.

Everytime i go to creative Site now i get URL out of Date. or Expired

Orbital Shark

I've been looking through Google results and it seems that's a very old card. Just out of curiosity try running the installer in Compatibility mode for Windows 98...

I'll keep doing some more hunting

Christamapher

Will do and thanks for the Help. I Dont have Cash to Put out for a New One Atm so i need this to work.

Orbital Shark

did you try it in compatibility mode? Could you be a bit more specific when you say 'Windows Found Drivers...' or is that when it BSOD'd

Christamapher

this is What happens when it found drivers

Orbital Shark

ok, we're at least getting somewhere

Can you open Device Manager and right-click the 'Multimedia audio device' and select 'Update Drivers Software'. Next, click 'Browse my computer...' and direct it to where the download would have extracted and select the ini file and you should be able to select the device from a list.

thefabe

Welcome to WindowsSeven Forums. From what I've read it sounds as if Windows isn't recognizing your card. This has happened to me with my Audigy 2ZS. Here's what I had to do to get it to work
.
First off I shut off and unplugged the system then removed the card.
Then I restarted my system let it fully boot. Then shut it down, like above.
Then I reinstalled the card.
This time Windows recognized it as new hardware installed.
Then I installed the proper drivers for my card. Found at the top of the Sound & Audio Thread.
http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/
Hope this will help. Fabe

Being it's an older model it might be well worth the money, providing you have it.
Did you try my earlier post?
Fabe

Christamapher

Hopefully New Week i Can. CAuse this RealTek Crap is annoying. and I need a Real Sound Card

thefabe

I found this thread you might want to read and try some of stormy13's advice he's really good with the sound cards.SB Audigy SE - Not Working in Windows 7

Might want to start somewhere around the 4th page. I know it's about the SE but you can try some of the suggestions to get it recognized as well as PMing him for help if needed.
Also when I mentioned removing the card then reinstalling it if you have a different PCI slot try it as well.

Try turning off the signature verification again, as OS suggested earlier.
